Lack Of Sleep Linked To Breast Cancer
The University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio has found a link between insufficient sleep and biologically aggressive tumors.
The most prevalent finding was amongst the women who had already suffered from cancer. After the fact, if they had not slept enough, they were more likely to face aggressive tumors at a later stage.
Researchers found that those who reported six hours or less of sleep per night had higher tumor recurrence scores.
The researchers were quoted as saying: “Sleep is when your body repairs itself at the cellular level, and this may be impaired [with post-treatment patients who do not get the sleep they need]”
As a whole, sleep is just as important as exercise and eating right. It is a part of the three-point equation.
