The harassment of Erin Andrews includes camera peepshows, sexual notes and now threatening letters.
The ESPN reporter and current contestant on “Dancing With the Stars,” was recently informed that some of the fan correspondence being received at the “Dan Patrick Show” was taking a violent turn. One specific letter read: “I hope [Andrews] gets shot in the face. I would love to see if she can dance away from a hail of gunfire.”
The show had been receiving other notes directed at Andrews, but they had never been overtly threatening.
This comes one month after Andrews spoke out against the lenient sentence received by Michael David Barrett, the man found guilty of filming peephole videos of her at three different hotels.
The current threatening letters, understandably, have shook up Andrews, who claims to be living in a state of fear. Fortunately, the Federal Bureau of Investigation is now involved and security around the star has been tightened.
Celebrity status might have its perks, but it sure is nice to sleep in your own bed at night without worrying about your personal safety.
